I always feel a bit bad for insurance people because there is so much competition and it is a topic that is not fun for the average person. So here are 7 ideas I have for life insurance lead generation. I doubt they will generate huge numbers of leads, but every little bit helps.

FaceBook – of all the social media sites, Facebook seems the best for life insurance lead generation. Not by directly marketing on it, but by building up relationships with people you meet or know but have not seen for a while.

Blogging – Do not blog about insurance. Instead, blog about things that your target market is interested in.

Email – Build a list and put out information that is of interest locally. Do not make it about insurance.

Plan an Event – Do a great event and invite lots of prospects. Not coffee – I mean a really good event.

Speak – It seems hard at first, but the more you do it the better you get at it, and the more offers you get.

Joint Ventures – team up with other service providers to work together on your clients.

Networking – yes, this is the old stand by. But do not always go to the same old events. Try new ones and meet new people.

Life insurance lead generation is not the easiest thing to do. It takes time and effort, but hopefully you knew that when you went into the life insurance business. Just keep at it and build your business one day at a time.

Insurance lead development is easier than you think if you use the web. Lead Generation on the Internet works. The following contain powerful lead development information which will enable you to find a higher number of customers more quickly.

In fact, there have been many lead development methods for insurance that have been around for years. This article will focus on Online lead generation tools including social media, SEO, email and blogging. It will also briefly discuss CRM options that assist in record leads and do an appropriate job of following up with sales leads.

It is obvious that the Internet is a very competitive Marketing medium and the more focused you become in your appoach the stronger you will perform in the insurance market.

Don’t expect it to be fast and easy. Not only does your company have some insurance businesses working to beat your company, but there are also independent contractors, lead capture websites that sell leads, web authors that earn income by ad payments, blog authors blogging about insurance and others posting a bunch of information about the topic.

Our best lead generation advice is something that will enable you to capture relevant insurance prospects in your region. Try to focus locally. Strategically, the publication of information together of a product people are searching for and a state or city is an effective strategy because a person that is finding you is probably a shopper that is localand likely to purchase soon. Also, you are helping the searcher out because they are Googling for a local location.

I know some sales people will not want to narrow down because they can sell in a bigger territory. Just keep in mind if you wish to get more targeted leads then there is a good chance you should be more concentrated on local insurances and you will find that despite less broad traffic you will reach doing research and much more likely to purchase most of the time.

The next piece of advice is writing a marketing plan with a focus on Inbound Marketing around online information posting and publishing. Notice I am not talking about social media yet. There are many different kinds of posting information that are on the web but not social. For example, using a press release site and adding a press area on the company site. This is not social media but will certainly generate more website traffic. Blogging can be effective with comments turned off should it be desired and would be a strategy to further develop Search Ranking and website visitors, even though it is not very social.

Do not overdo the social side. With social media, you must be using Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Do not just use these things to use them. They all have groups included to use and these social websites give you the ability to participate in focused groups and go to events with people that are could be in need of your services. This can help you go from very random to a targeted and focused insurance prospect generation method quickly.

Another tip. Email is still a great tool. Email marketing should be very effective at building relationships and very affordable. Our teams use aWeber to put the process on autopilot with prospects and offer something of solid value to visitors to the websites and blogs that want to request the free reports or free stuff we are providing to benefit them.

Begin by asking yourself what your best potential leads value. For example, instead of talking about your product, talk about the benefit to the prospect. Does it cut risk? Or will it increase sales?

Once the insurance prospect understands just how your company is going to benefit them in reaching a goal, they become an engaged, hot lead ready to buy which is better than going door to door in the snow.

Lastly, you must look at a customer management software. If you are in a big business in the insurance industry and they should have a standard sales management software. But if that is not true you should use tracking software to record your sales opportunities and make sure you are trying to close the sales. You would be shocked to find out how lots of great prospects get lost just because of never following up.

CRM is what people call customer relationship management systems. All organizations should have a sales system for recording leads and sales.

I have spoken to several insurance agents that have told me that the Internet does not work for insurance lead generation.

I know it is not correct because I was a business insurance lead that turned into a sale for my agent. I had trouble finding business insurance from a local vendor and the one I finally found had an OK site and was high in Google for my search on Ohio business insurance.

Qualified leads are people that have a need and seek you out. When your website looks ok and has a clear call to action, you can generate insurance leads every day from the web.

Think about it. Progressive does some nice insurance leads online.

You do not have to be big to use the Internet to generate regular insurance leads for your company. You simply have to focus on local, niche topics (very specific types of insurance) and blog regularly about why the insurance you are offering can help your lead. This stuff does work, but you need more than a 5 page website.

How do you increase your Health Insurance Lead Generation?

In some ways, it should be fairly easy to generate leads for health insurance. Since it is a big expense for employers and for employees, if you can offer the prospect more coverage for the same price, or an entirely lower price while keeping the premium the same, it should be easy to get people to listen.

But here is what you are up against.

People rarely want to take the extra time to review another plan. Plus, they may not be able to switch when you first meet them.

For that reason, find out when their renewal date is and start following up two months before the date.

But what about generating more leads?

I suggest you come up with some shocking but true statistics that would make me or any other person you meet pay attention. For example, when someone does not shop around the plan at renewal – how much does it go up? What is the difference as compared to someone that does shop it around.

On average, I bet the people that take the time to shop their health insurance policy each year save a lot of money, which makes having a meeting with you a much more attractive prospect.

I know a lot of insurance sales people and I know they spend a lot of time networking and not so much time trying to generate insurance leads on the web. Insurance Lead Generation via websites is not easy. However, the bigger thing may not be lead generation but targeting what people are doing searches for.

Here are some tips to generate more leads on the web for your insurance business.

1. Make sure you put your full address in the footer of EVERY page. This will help you generate more local search results when people are searching for insurance products in their city.

2. Put your phone number on every page of the website and make it easy to find. If someone wants to call and get a quote for insurance, you do not want to make them hunt for your phone number.

3. Talk about insurance produces on the web that are harder to locate. For example, I had trouble finding business insurance the first time I needed it and finally located it via the web from a local broker.

These are just some of the easy tips that will help you improve insurance lead generation.
