Spell checkers can make you lazy, but at the same time they can show you the correct way words are spelled. I would say it is a toss up. People don’t use spell checkers enough to have that great of an impact. In a business world they are constantly used, so are grammar checkers, and other programs. I always taught my kids to find words within words so they could remember how to spell them or to associate it with something. None of them ever failed English or spelling. It is all in the way it is being taught. You never quit learning through out your life.
