I think it’s the best available. Depending on your keywords, bids start at 1-5 cents a click & up. Traffic is almost instantaneous.

Google Ad Words will see fit to use every bit of budgeted cash you are willing to pour into it. I had a brief discussion with their tech support once and asked them why Ad Words were not spread out throughout the day so that my West Coast customers could see the ads I was placing. They told me that I was not purchasing enough ads to make it into that time frame because the demand for my ads was being used up earlier in the day. I continued to test this by adding more cash and more cash and you know what? No matter how much I added, I was never able to get my ads displayed during the evening time for West Coast viewers. Ad Words would dump almost everything I had within the first half of the day regardless of budget and then tell me I should spend more. It was becoming a bottomless pit. Not to mention the optimization process kept forcing me to up the any on how much each ad would cost to be displayed. Ad Words would also deactivate ads without notification to me at any time during the day. These deactivations would be because it had decided the word I was using was worth more and wanted more cash in order to display them. So I would have to check this at least a dozen times a day to see what had been turned off so that I could adjust and turn them back on. It had taken what was essentially my business name as a key word, which is NOT a popular keyword and eventually told me that one would cost me $5 each time it was displayed. Again I argued with tech support as to it being my business name and they agreed it was not a populare search term but did not know why the engine chose to charge me that amount. It was truely maddening. I had heard other complaints as such through forums and so on and decided to quit using them. Any time I spoke to tech support about these issues, they always came back to telling me I had to spend more cash. Good grief!
